| Welcome To The Lukanator Why choose a Custom Fishing Rod from the Lukanator? There is nothing wrong with purchasing a rod off the shelf. The main difference is that you are buying a one size fits all, standard fishing rod. A common problem with buying one from the manufacturers is that they try to find ways to cut costs, by finding a way to build them faster and less expensive ways of assembling and finishing their rods. With a Custom Lukanator rod, we use the finest components, that fits what you are fishing for and your specifications. Your choice of rod blank, length, grips, and each rod is wrapped with your colors of choice, and coated with double epoxy for a long lasting finish. The guides are placed one per foot and placed on the rods natural spine. By building a rod on the spine, you achieve maximum strength and casting distance as the rod will flex along its natural curve, not against it. When using the right amount of guides, it helps prevent the line from touching the blank as the rod is bent and adding extra drag on the line and can cause the line to break. This problem is enhanced as the rod is trying to twist to get back into its natural position. This is a problem that you will not have with one of our custom built rods.
